Thank the Lord that this has happened! There is finally a forum devoted to the discussion of buying and selling websites. This was well overdue. The sub forum at sitepoint filled this space for a while but was soon overwhelmed by the ubiquitous, and inevitable, sig link spammers. Any frequent visitor to the SP forum will have noted its decline.
The Experienced People forum has only been running for a month and already it has gained some very knowledgable members who have shared their experiences so that we may benefit from their mistakes – and more imprtantly their successes.
I’ve bought a myriad of websites in my time, but already I’ve learnt a thing or two from taking part in the informed discussions taking place there. If you want to learn the ins and outs of buying and selling websites then there’s no better place that I know of to go (and if there are better places, cite them here in the comments!).
If you want to learn how to perform your own due diligence on websites you’re interested in, they’ve got it covered. You don’t want to get caught with your pants down! If you’d rather enlist the help of experienced buyers to do that DD for you – there’s even a thread for people who need help with due diligence. If you want to make money online, there are many suggestions to kickstart your efforts.
There are lots of webmasters out there who proclaim themselves to be site flipping/site buying gurus, but this is the only forum with such a high concentration of experienced people who actually walk the walk as well as talk the talk.
If you want to spy on the successes of established internet entrepreneurs, then you’ll gain a whole lot of insight from visiting. But if you decide to share your own experiences, then believe me, your gains will be multiplied.
